Currently a new business, or a new process within an existing business, that is
required to have a risk management programme (RMP) under the Animal Products
Act (the Act) must have a programme in place and registered with NZFSA before
operations can commence. Once the RMP documentation and premises
construction has been completed the operator generally needs to begin processing
as soon as possible.
